What is Thai Massage?

The purpose of Thai massage is to promote the free and unrestricted circulation of “Life Energy” throughout the whole body by stretching and opening the joints, the muscles and the Sen lines.
Thai massage is an ancient form of massage which combines soft, rhythmic compressions, Indian yoga-like stretches, and acupressure-like thumb presses. It is extremely gentle and soothing. When you get your massage, you are fully clothed and lie on a mat on the floor. All of the stretches are done slowly and with awareness of the breath.
When I give a massage, one of my main goals is to provide an environment in which deep relaxation is possible. I allow you to go inside yourself, and experience peaceful stillness.
In addition to the meditative qualities of the massage, there are many physical benefits:
* Muscles are relaxed and gently stretched
* Joints are moved to promote limberness
* Circulation is stimulated and blood is oxygenated
* The lymph system is pumped encouraging detox and a healthy immune system
* Internal organs are stimulated to improve digestion and elimination
